T.........raining it!

Last week, dh and I began a new adventure. We traveled from Wisconsin to western Montana on a train! My daughter snapped this picture of us boarding the Amtrak in Columbus, Wisconsin, on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. As it was a 27 hour trip, we chose to travel in what they call a "roomette". The seats were generous and comfortable, and as you can see, had a bunk that folded down into a bed as well as the seats making a second bed at night. Our sleeping car attendent greeted us with champagne and escorted us to our cabin on the second floor of the coach. All of our delicious meals were served in the dining car, and we also had a wine and cheese party there on the second day. The motion of the train rocked us to sleep at night. We've decided that "training" is an ideal form of travel for us!

Sounds like fun! I've wondered about going "training" since it seems like a wonderful way to see the country. Hope you share more photos of your trip!

I've wanted to travel on a train like that. sounds like fun. I have taken 2 train trips in my life. One, I wss very young and it was short. The other was in my early 20s, the trip was over 24 hours, and not comfy like yours. and NO wine! I'd like tor travel across Canada. someday....
glad your trip was so great!

sounds like a great vacation. I love traveling by AMTRAK. Done it a few times, over the years. It all began when I was a little girl, and my sister, mom and I went to Niagra Falls.... {:-D
