C.........attends the American Players Theater

In the beautiful, southwestern rolling hills of Wisconsin near Spring Green, lies an amazing theater. At an outdoor venue, off in the woods, the American Players Theater, a stellar repertory group, presents classic plays during the summer months. Camille, my daughter, son-in-law, David and I had the great pleasure of seeing "Ah Wilderness!", the only comedy written by Eugene O'Neill, at the theater on the evening of July 11. We have been in a terrible rainy season here in Wisconsin and we were concerned that it would be rained out, but after a brief but severe thunderstorm, the skies cleared, and we walked up the long hill, through the deep woods to find our seats. Ushers passed out paper towels and the audience cheerfully wiped off the seats and settled in to a most delightful production. The talent of this troupe never ceases to astound me and this was certainly up to our expectations, and more! You can see Camille with my program and ticket, and overlooking the set before the play began. Perhaps she'll accompany us again next year!

N.........ot to be outdone, Camille chooses a basket!

Since Oscar chose his favorite basket, Camille just had to chose hers. She sat in a smaller one to admire this basket with an intricate lid. Swirling hexagons with teneriffe designs surround a handle of natural pine needle sheaths.
She hasn't decided what to put in it yet, but she's working on it!

C.........amille goes shopping and shows off some results!

Not infrequently, Camille heads over to the yarn shop to select her favorite colors. The big one pound skeins weigh more than she does! Here she shows two of her favorite crocheted afghans, both done in quilt styles. One is "Granny's Flower Garden" and reminds me of the quilts I slept under so long ago at my grandmother's house. The second, in stunning gold and white, seems to have several names including "Ohio Star". Both are hand pieced, just as our grandmothers and great grandmothers did when they made their priceless treasures.

C.........amille's excellent adventure

Even though Camille has many adventures right here in Kohler or in neighboring cities and towns, she was able to have a wonderful trip to Los Angeles this past weekend. First she posed on the luggage at the airport in Milwaukee. Because she is a good Wisconsin bunny, she always flies Midwest. She was going to show you the chocolate chip cookies served on every flight, but somehow, they disappeared! When she arrived in LA, she went to graduation ceremonies at California State University, Northridge (C-SUN) to watch Becky be hooded and receive her Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Congratulations, Becky! She's showing you the morterboard, tassel, and diploma up close. She was then able to tour Los Angeles and many other cities including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, BelAire, Santa Monica andPacific Palisades. What a trip. We all arrived home safely last night. Now it's back to touring closer to home!

A.........dventures with Camille in Kohler Part II

Today Camille invited her friend, Oscar, to visit the Kohler Sports Core. First they posed in front of the sculpture near the front entrance. Because she is a member and Oscar is her guest, they were allowed past the signs, and into Camille's favorite area, the family pool. This is a regualr work out area for Camille when she participates in water aerobics. Go, Camille, go Oscar, be fit!! Aren't Camille and Oscar lucky to have such a gorgeous fascility in their area? Aren't I lucky to have an alter-ego like Camille?

A.........dventures in Kohler with Camille...Part I

Today the new Camille begins a series of adventures in Kohler. The village paths are dotted with modern sculptures and botanical gardens. The garden glories change in summer and fall, but Camille is particulary fascinated by the glorious spring blooms. They are all within walking (or hopping) distance of any Kohler locale, and visitors can even rent a walking tour tape of the many gardens. Come visit our lovely village at any time, and stay tuned for her adventures at the Kohler Design Center, the Waelderhous, and even The American Club!

M.........other's Day with Camille

Camille, David and I had a lovely Mother's Day experience yesterday. We had the responsibility of delivering 30 Mother's Day bouquets, a project of David's Lions Club. You can see Camille in David's hand in front of a wonderful local greenhouse where we went to pick up the prepackaged beauties. They filled the trunk and Camille posed for a picture on top of them. Then it was off to the nearby City of Plymouth to ring many doorbells. Fortuneately most of the recipients were home and it was such a delight to see the looks on their faces when they received their roses or bouquets of mixed flowers. Some were expecting them; some were not. My favorite, was a lady who was so surprised

because she is not a Mother herself, and her eyes filled with tears and gratitude for the folks who had been kind enough to send them to her. The final picture shows the roses that I received. What a glorious way to celebrate Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all Moms, especially mine!

A.........new Camille; a new experience!

Good thing that Camille was weighed on Friday, because she is already on her way to surprise a little girl in Malaysia. So she quickly changed colors and became quite a helper! First she guarded the pink nylon net that will soon be crocheted into scrubbies. Then she sat on a large box that arrived with my daughter and son-in-law that live here in Wisconsin. They had delivered an early Mother's Day gift from both daughters and sons-in-law. Inside was a brand new set of pots and pans! Seeing as my old ones were almost 45 years old and had become adept at burning dinner, I was thrilled and surprised! Camille fit nicely in the new ladle, but certainly did not want to jump into those shiny pots! How lucky I am! I can honestly say that I am the world's happiest Mom and Mother-in-law...even though there are others that feel the same way!

C.........amille sends thank you notes!

Camille is a considerate bunny and made thank you notes to include with the scrubbies she sent to the contest winners. First she stamped "Thank You" on the front, "Handmade by Camille" on the back and a picture of her inside the card. Then she wrote a short note and was off to the post office! The postmaster weighed her envelopes and stamped them. Then he even let her sit on the scale...she weighs a whopping 6 ounces (but don't tell anyone). Incidentally, not all the contest winners have sent us their addresses, so she's waiting to send out some more. She's even thinking of another contest soon!

C...........amille could not decide!

Camille had quite a day! First she had a visit from one of my little friends. She watched as she played with my Mytryoshka dolls and then they both sat on my lap while Katydid and Kirby watched. Yes that's a picture of little old me...more old than little!



Then she tried to judge the contest. There were 12 entries. Eleven are posted here and one posted on a thread from ETSY. She, and I, loved them all! So...we'll send out 12 scrubbies! Now we need addresses. We have the one from the ETSY thread, but the eleven who posted here can send me their snail mail addresses via email. My email address is in My Complete Profile just at the end of the "About Me" section on the right. As soon as I get the addresses the scrubbies will be mailed along with a coupon for my ETSY shop. Thanks from me and Camille! You'll see your ideas on this blog in the next couple of months. Just wait "til you see what dh came up with for the hot air balloon!

C.........amille has a contest!

So this is why Camille didn't turn around yesterday! She was hiding the prize for her contest! Camille is giving away two scrubbies! All you have to do is post another fun idea for Camille on the blog, and I'll have a friend pick the best idea. It could be a suggestion for an adventure, a good way to market her, some fun colors for her next "chameleon" change, or anything else that pops into your head! After the choice is made, she'll draw another suggestion at random from the list. Both of you will receive a free scrubbie soon in the mail. The contest ends tomorrow afternoon! She's "hopping" to get many suggestions!

U.........h, Oh!

True to form Camille has changed color..from bright blue to pale green aqua blue! But not true to form, she had a request today. She wants to go shopping! What's happening with Camille? Is there something we don't know about? Should I be concerned? And why won't she turn around? Perhaps we'll find out in the new post tomorrow!

I.........'ve been framed, part 2!

Camille was still a little confused when she sat among all the supplies, but was fascinated to see the work in progress. When Mom was done she hung it on the wall. Now she has an original piece of art with an original frame we can admire everyday! We hope that TinkersTrinkets likes it too!

I.........'ve been framed!

Camille was very curious yesterday about pine needles soaking in the sink! I explained to her that we were going to make a special frame for a special picture I had bought from TinkersTinkets on Etsy. (You can see much more of her lovely work at http://TinkersTrinkets.etsy.com ) Then she watched as I drilled holes around the frame with a dremel. They weren't quite big enough so Dad enlarged them with a special "high tech" tool (a knittling needle!)

C.........amille just couldn't wait!

She was supposed to wait until Thursday, but she just couldn't! She had to tell about her trip to visit Grandma yesterday! She hopped right into the car, and wanted to drive and then sit on the console, but then was a good girl and was buckled into the back seat to be safe. But it was all worth it. She even was able to watch Grandma craft. Over many years, Grandma has probably made thousands of dishcloths that she donates to

organizations for their craft bazaars and gives as gifts. Look at those marvelous fingers! They're almost 94 years old!
