Just Four More

days until the big sale   We did even more promoting today so we hope lots of folks stop in on Friday and Saturday to see some neat crafts and visit with us.  We plan to have fun!
This morning brought a great sale, but that means I had to complete an amigurumi lion today along with the scrubbies and tagging and tomorrow means a giraffe along with more scrubbies.  What fun!  Here you can see the little giraffe and lion that went to Missouri today:

Just Eight More Days!

One week from tomorrow is the first day of our craft show here in Kohler.  Publicity is continuing, projects are being completed, and we're staying positive about the weather forecasts!
Goals set yesterday were completed about an hour ago I'm focusing on three items for tomorrow:
10 scrubbies
                                    Sorting completed crochet projects
                   Making a hippopotamus

Fortunately the hippo is only about 10" long.  He's shown with his pachyderm buddy in the photo above.  Both are part of an amigurumi zoo that will be on sale next week.  They both were completed but sold last week!

See you tomorrow evening!

R.........ainbow Connection

Rainbows have always intrigued me, so when I entered a challenge the other day with a rainbow theme, I couldn't resist! Here is my collection of amigurumi fish done in each of the colors of the rainbow. Each "angel" fish is about 7"x8" and is based on a pattern from Lion Brand yarn. They are entirely of acrylic yarn and lightly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. I can just see them decorating the walls of a child's room or playroom, or even in a bathroom!
The very creative Natasha of DoodleStar has been inspiring artists every Friday with a theme, and then posts about those who participate the following Thursday on her blog. This week, with the Rainbow Theme, I thought of a pattern I had been meaning to try and did seven of these angel fish, in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. It was a happy experience and I hope to follow one of her inspirations again. You can see her blog post about the rainbow entries at http://thursdaysweettreat.blogspot.com/2009/03/exceptionally-talented-artists-create.html
Why not join her every week?

B.........askets and Babies

Every once in a while, something comes out of my hands that I personally, really like. Since being on Etsy, I've been encouraged to try a wide variety of projects, and since I'm continuing to celebrate my Etsyversary this week, I though I'd show some of my personal favs. The first picture shows Camille, one of my amigurumi bunnies that I adapted from a Lion Brand Yarn pattern, overlooking perhaps the pine needle basket of which I am most pleased. This round basket features a lid coiled around wire hexagons with a swirling teneriffe pattern. The sheath ends of a few needles form the handle.
Also, I've designed, made and sold several hand crocheted Christening dresses. It's always an honor for me to have a baby baptized in one of my dresses and I am in the process of completing another complete with hat and booties and hope to list it this weekend.
I wish to sincerely thank my readers, customers and fellow artists and crafters on Etsy for their great support. I've put a few of them in my latest treasury: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=33563 , but there are so many more to thank! Please stay tuned tomorrow for my special blog give away and a special offer from my shop in honor of this first Etsyversary!

Camille and Oscar play fantasty football!

Last Sunday, Oscar and Camille travelled to Oconomowoc to choose their fantasy football team in the annual draft. they brought plenty of iced tea to keep them cool and relaxed against the mini-cooler as they watched the set up in David's son and daughter-in-law's garage. They watched as everyone planned strategy, and then Oscar just had to see what was gong on on the commissioner's computer. 12 teams completed the draft in just three hours. They're pleased with their "team" and will keep you posted how they do in the league!

T.........hey've done it again!

Perhaps it was viewing all the beautiful pink flowers in the gardens; at least that's the only reason I can think of that Camille and Oscar dramatically changed colors last night! They chose beautiful shades of pale and deep pink for their new look. Camille did keep the flower in her hair...or is it her hare...and Oscar still sports his classy bow tie. They're sure to be off on more adventures soon, so please stay tuned.
